Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an Occupational Therapist to evaluate and treat patients of all ages and to serve as a clinical resource for staff and students. This role focuses on delivering high-quality care and modeling professional standards across the team.

The incumbent will design and adjust care plans, educate patients and families, and ensure thorough documentation in the therapy EMR, while collaborating with referring providers to optimize outcomes.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire (AHA).
• Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) in good standing (IDFPR).
• Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient transfers with assistance as needed and ensures safe body mechanics.
• Develops and updates a comprehensive plan of care with goals, outcomes, and discharge plan.
• Educates patients, families, caregivers, and other health professionals using effective teaching methods.
• Evaluates clinical findings to determine diagnoses and outcomes of care.
• Performs examinations and uses reliable methods to assess chief complaints and history.
• Screens patients to determine therapy needs and monitors progress of therapy sessions.
• Documents evaluations and plans of care in the therapy EMR per policy, including goals and response to treatment.
• Communicates progress and treatment recommendations with referring providers.
