Job summary

McCarton Foundation seeks an occupational therapist to provide specialized services to toddlers aged 2–3 with developmental disabilities. You will design individualized treatment programs, document progress, and collaborate with Speech, ABA, and PT teams to deliver integrated child-centered care.

The role requires a Master’s in Occupational Therapy and NYS OT licensure, with hands-on experience in pediatrics and mentorship of paraprofessionals.

Qualifications

• Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
• NYS Occupational Therapist Licensure required.
• Minimum 1 year of combined experience with children (pediatric OT or related early childhood disciplines).
• Hands-on experience with children with developmental disabilities and/or autism.
• Experience mentoring paraprofessional staff is strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of pediatric evidence-based practices, Early Intervention and IFSP/IEP regulations; CPR/First Aid knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized OT treatment to children aged 2–3 with developmental disabilities.
• Review referrals and medical records; design and implement treatment plans; document goals and progress.
• Monitor treatment effectiveness and adjust interventions for best outcomes.
• Collaborate with Speech, ABA, and Physical Therapists for integrated programming.
• Participate in developing and monitoring IFSPs.
• Mentor and supervise paraprofessional staff in therapy activities.
