Children’s Minnesota is seeking an Orthopedic Technician to assist with casting, removal, and adjustments, and to support the orthopedic clinic in patient care. The role emphasizes patient education, safety, and efficient procedure support.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma (preferred), BLS, ROT/OTC certs or willingness to obtain ROT exam within 18 months, and 2 years in a health care setting with patient and staff interaction.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required.
• ROT or OTC certification through ASOP or NBCOT, or agreement to complete ROT exam within 18 months.
• One year experience in casting under physician supervision or six months under ROT supervision.
• Two years of experience in a health care setting working with patients and staff.

Responsibilities

• Apply, remove and adjust casts and soft goods.
• Assist orthopedic procedures to expedite patient care.
• Promote patient education and safety and enhance satisfaction.
• Demonstrate understanding of resource utilization and other duties as assigned.
