Job summary

Children's Health is seeking an Orthopedic Technician for the Northlake clinic. The role involves applying and removing casts and splints, with 2+ years of orthopedic patient care preferred, and BLS required at hire. NBCOT certification within 2 years is preferred.

The position is onsite with regular weekday hours in Northlake. You will articulate orthopedic conditions to patients and families, assist in the OR under surgeon supervision, and maintain clear communication with the care team to

Qualifications

• Two years of full-time orthopedic patient care experience preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required at hire.
• NBCOT certification within 2 years of hire preferred.

Responsibilities

• Explain orthopedic conditions to patients and families based on anatomy understanding.
• Apply, adjust and remove common orthopedic devices per guidelines.
• Perform basic casting, including SPICA casts.
• Interpret simple fractures and dislocations on X-ray.
• Operate in OR as needed under surgeon supervision.
• Communicate effectively with providers, staff, patients and families.
