Job summary

Shriners Children's St. Louis seeks an OR Registered Nurse to deliver compassionate pediatric perioperative care in a team-based environment. You will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia and nursing staff to ensure safe, family-centered care before, during and after surgery.

Enjoy a 3/10 dayshift schedule with opportunities for growth. BSN required or in progress; Missouri RN license; BLS and PALS within one year of employment. CNOR preferred; prior pediatric OR experience is a plus.

Qualifications

BSN degree required or in progress.
Missouri RN license.
2+ years OR experience.
BLS certification.
PALS certification within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

The OR Registered Nurse provides nursing care to our pediatric patients within the operating room, performs assessments and interventions designed to keep the patients safe during surgery.
Involves patient, family, and health care team members in formulating an appropriate individualized plan of care and identifies expected outcomes based on nursing assessment and diagnosis.
Implements the plan of care in partnership with the patient, family, and health care team members.
Ensures all components of the plan of care are documented in the patient health record.
Evaluates the patient/family's understanding of and response to the plan of care.
Utilizes teaching strategies appropriate to the individual patient's condition and learning needs.
Assists the physician in accomplishing the plan of care for the patient and to provide continuity between the patient care unit and the Operating Room.
