The role offers a 3/10 dayshift schedule, with emphasis on family-centered care, collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, accurate documentation, and ongoing professional growth within a renowned pediatric program.

Qualifications

• BSN degree required or in progress.
• Missouri RN license required.
• 2+ years OR experience required.
• BLS certification required.
• PALS certification within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care to pediatric patients in the operating room.
• Perform assessments and interventions to ensure safety during surgery.
• Involve patient and family in the care plan and document outcomes.
• Implement and document the plan of care with the health care team.
• Educate patients and families and assist the physician to ensure continuity of care.

Hours: Our Operating Room team enjoys a quality work-life balance through a 3/10 dayshift schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• The OR Registered Nurse provides nursing care to our pediatric patients within the operating room, performs assessments and interventions designed to keep the patients safe during surgery.
• Involves patient, family, and health care team members in formulating an appropriate individualized plan of care and identifies expected outcomes based on nursing assessment and diagnosis.
• Implements the plan of care in partnership with the patient, family, and health care team members.
• Ensures all components of the plan of care are documented in the patient health record.
• Evaluates the patient/family's understanding of and response to the plan of care.
• Utilizes teaching strategies appropriate to the individual patient's condition and learning needs.
• Assists the physician in accomplishing the plan of care for the patient and to provide continuity between the patient care unit and the Operating Room.

Required Qualifications

• BSN degree required or in progress
• Missouri RN license
• 2+ years OR experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (within one year of employment)

Preferred Qualifications

• CNOR highly preferred
• Prior pediatric acute care, plastic reconstructive surgery, orthopedic and spine experience a plus

Compensation

Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
