Job summary

Phoenix Children's Hospital, Inc. is seeking a Surgical Technician to support the operating room team in a pediatric setting. You will set up rooms, organize instruments, and assist surgeons at the field, ensuring sterile procedures and smooth case flow.

The role requires completion of a Surgical Technician program or equivalent, a high school diploma, and a current BLS certification. Prior pediatric experience is preferred and you will mentor students as a preceptor.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of a Surgical Technician program or equivalent.
• 1 year Surgical Technician experience in a surgery setting preferred.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• Experience with pediatric patient populations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in operating room setup and turnover per procedures and standards.
• Support surgeons at the surgical field and organize sterile areas and instruments.
• Handle and label specimens; update physician preference cards as needed.
• Restock, re-supply, and clean operating rooms and sterile cores.
• Serve as a preceptor to students and orient new staff to surgical tech duties.
• Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.
