Job summary

Duke University Health System’s Valvano Day Hospital seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to join its pediatric infusion and clinic teams in Durham, NC. You will plan, provide, and document high-quality nursing care, collaborate with physicians and families, and support a 12-hour schedule with weekend rotations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of nursing experience.
• Graduation from an accredited BSN, ADN, or Nursing Diploma program.
• Current North Carolina RN license or compact license.
• BLS certification required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced outpatient setting with teamwork and family-centered care.
• Strong documentation and care planning skills.
• Ability to multitask and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan, provide, supervise, and document professional nursing care per physician orders.
• Provide nursing services within NC Board of Nursing scope.
• Assess patient needs and modify care plans based on response.
• Delegate tasks and supervise licensed/unlicensed staff.
• Serve as team leader or charge nurse when assigned.
• Maintain safe care environment and monitor equipment.
• Participate in professional development and quality improvement.
• Support staff and learner development through precepting.
