Job summary

Northwell Health's Danbury Hospital is seeking a PRN Occupational Therapist with pediatrics experience a plus. The role includes evaluating and treating patients across inpatient and outpatient settings, with emphasis on upper extremity function and activities of daily living.

Minimum education is a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy with at least one year of experience; FIM and CPR certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy required.
• Minimum one year of OT experience.
• FIM certification and CPR certification desired.

Responsibilities

• Performs occupational therapy evaluations.
• Performs occupational therapy treatment planning and implementation.
• Provides patient/family education and training.
• Provides peer review and participates in performance improvement activities.
• Documentation is completed based on department guidelines.
• Initiates discharge planning.
• Continuing education: 20 hours per year, provides two hours of inservice education to staff per year.
• Provides full time clinical experience to student.
• May provide guidance to lower level staff.
• Participates in orienting, teaching, guiding and evaluating assistive personnel.
• Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
