Job summary

Danbury Hospital, part of Northwell Health, seeks a PRN Occupational Therapist for the I/P Physical Medicine department in Danbury. The position is as-needed, Monday through Sunday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at $69/hour.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree and at least one year of OT experience; FIM and CPR certifications are desirable. The role involves evaluations, treatment planning, education, discharge planning, and participation in performance improvement activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum one year OT experience.
• FIM certification and CPR certification desired.

Responsibilities

• Performs occupational therapy evaluations.
• Performs treatment planning and implementation.
• Provides patient/family education and training.
• Participates in performance improvement activities.
• Completes documentation per department guidelines.
• Initiates discharge planning.
• Attends continuing education (20 hours/year) and trains staff.
• Provides clinical experience to students.
• May supervise lower level staff.
• Assists in orienting and guiding assistive personnel.
• Fulfills compliance responsibilities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
