Job summary

UNM Hospital is seeking a Pediatric Occupational Therapist to provide rehabilitative services in a per diem capacity. The role may involve patients across Neonate, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult and Geriatric age groups, with responsibility for assessment, treatment planning, and patient education.

The OT will collaborate with the rehabilitation team, maintain documentation, and supervise students as needed in a dynamic hospital setting. Per diem status and day shift are noted.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Related discipline recommended.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient to determine treatment goals and outline therapy.
• Plan therapy program including sensorimotor, educational, recreational, and social activities.
• Consult with rehabilitative team and medical staff on patient care.
• Select appropriate therapy activities to meet patient needs.
• Educate patients on skills and techniques for therapy participation and evaluate progress.
• Order and maintain supplies and equipment.
• Supervise students and volunteers as delegated; delegate tasks as appropriate.
• Establish and maintain good rapport with patients, visitors, physicians and staff.
• Continue professional development through education and training.
