Job summary

Phoenix Children's Hospital, Inc. is seeking a licensed Pediatric Occupational Therapist to provide evaluation and treatment for neonatal to adolescent patients.

You will develop age-appropriate plans of care, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and educate families on home programs and discharge planning. The role emphasizes pediatric development, functional skills, and family teaching, with supervision of rehab staff as needed.

Qualifications

• Pediatric experience preferred
• NBCOT certification required prior to start date
• Arizona OT license required prior to start date
• AZ DPS fingerprint clearance card required
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• AOTA pediatric specialty certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and treats patients with occupational performance disorders/delays, demonstrating knowledge of normal development and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate services in areas of self-care and play skills involving motor, sensory-integrative, cognitive, and psychosocial functions.
• Provides care as outlined in standards of care section of the Policies & Procedures Manual. Uses pediatric-based behavior management strategies and matches diagnostic/therapeutic interventions to age and disability of children.
• Establishes appropriate treatment plans with age-appropriate goals and target timeframes, which are discussed with family and mutually agreed upon.
• Organizes, develops, implements, and coordinates occupational performance of patient care with other disciplines within the hospital and resources within the community, including discharge planning via charting, letters of medical necessity, care conferences, and rounds.
• Maintains appropriate and timely documentation in compliance with department, regulatory/accreditation standards, and state/federal guidelines.
• Maintains productivity standards for clinical level and appropriate and timely documentation in compliance with department policies, regulatory/accreditation standards, and state/federal guidelines.
• Builds and maintains rapport within the department, hospital, and community, professionally interacting with physicians, families, and hospital/community personnel.
• Supervises and directs rehab technicians, therapist assistants and/or students, providing feedback on performance.
• Performs miscellaneous job related duties as requested.
