Leaps & Bounds Pediatric Therapy in NORCO/CORONA is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist - Pediatric to evaluate children, develop treatment plans, and deliver therapy within a multidisciplinary team.

You will collaborate with physicians, families, and school teams, provide home programs, maintain documentation, and participate in ongoing professional development while enjoying a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Perform assessments and interpret evaluations and test results; determine occupational therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription.
• Help patients accomplish goals outlined in treatment plans and effectively use therapeutic devices by administering manual exercises; instruct, encourage, and assist patients in performing physical activities such as functional skills, sensory activities, and daily-living activities.
• Administer occupational therapy treatment and direct treatments performed by aides, technicians, and assistants.
• Complete discharge planning by consulting with physicians, nurses, social workers, and other health care workers; contribute to patient care conferences.
• Design home exercise programs; instruct patients, families, and caregivers in home exercise programs; recommend and/or provide assistive equipment; recommend outpatient or home health follow-up programs.
• Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records, according to the law.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and protect clinic operations by keeping information confidential, according to the law.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Protect patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
• Ensure operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
• Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
• Develop occupational therapy staff by providing information; developing and conducting in-service training programs.
• Comply with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
• Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
• Participate effectively as a member of the IEP team, providing services as part of a comprehensive education plan and in accordance with the written IEP.
