Job summary

Children's National Hospital is seeking a Nutrition Technician in Washington, DC to accurately prepare, translate and deliver special formulas and supplements for patients. You will maintain patient diet records, kardex, and logs, ensure order accuracy, and respond to patient foodservice requests.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED (AA preferred) and at least 3 years of related healthcare/foodservice experience, with strong math, measurement and IT data entry skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; A.A. preferred.
• 3 years related healthcare or foodservice experience required.
• Basic math, translating written instructions to formulas, and using scales.

Responsibilities

• Receive and maintain accurate orders for patient meals and formulas.
• Prepare, review and correct patient menus and diet orders per RD standards.
• Prepare and deliver infant formula and special supplements.
• Maintain patient information in kardex, logs and IT systems.
• Inventory special food items and communicate needs to supervisor/manager.
• Enter data on stock and nourishment usage and print reports per guidelines.
