Qualifications

• Licensed as a Registered Nurse with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
• Current BLS/CPR and/or other unit-specific certifications are required.
• Pediatric advanced life support or equivalent within 6 months of hire for main hospital.
• Minimum 2 years of pediatric (PEDS), PICU, and NICU experience.
• Experience working on a float team.

Responsibilities

• Develops and updates the patient’s plan of care based on ongoing assessments and family input.
• Collaborates with the health care team to promote effective patient care.
• Verifies and implements orders from physicians and documents in the EMR.
• Educates patients and families about care plans.
• Responds to changing patient needs and priorities.
• Assists and mentors staff and students; participates in unit leadership.
• Integrates current standards of practice to deliver quality care.
• Acts as Charge Nurse when assigned.
