Job summary

Duke Children's Health Center Nephrology Clinic in Durham, NC seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to work with attending physicians and a pediatric nephrology team to collect and document data, perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, order labs, and coordinate patient care for both outpatient and dialysis patients.

The role supports Monday–Friday hours with flexible scheduling to meet clinic and hospitalized dialysis patient needs.

Qualifications

• Nurse Practitioners: Master’s degree in Nursing and completion of an accredited NP program.
• Physician Assistants: Bachelor's degree; Master's degree strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to assist physician and provide patient care.
• Take patient histories, perform exams, and document findings in the medical record.
• Order and schedule laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures; coordinate patient workups.
• Coordinate Pediatric Nephrology team activities for inpatient and outpatient care.
• Coordinate inpatient dialysis with dialysis unit staff and scheduling for dialysis patients.

Master's degree in Nursing (NP)
