Job summary

Duke University is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) for the Duke Children’s Health Center Nephrology Clinic and Creekstone location in Durham, NC. You will collaborate with attending physicians and other APPs to collect data, perform procedures, order labs, and provide direct patient care.

Primary hours are Monday through Friday, with flexibility to meet dialysis patient needs. The position requires NP or PA training with appropriate licensure and certification; BLS is required, and

Qualifications

• Requires completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with a Master’s degree in Nursing.
• PA candidates must complete an accredited Physician Assistant program; a Bachelor’s degree is required and a Master’s degree is strongly preferred.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to assist physicians and document results.
• Take patient histories, conduct physical examinations, and write progress notes; prepare patient workups.
• Order and schedule laboratory studies and diagnostics, manage renal-related evaluations, and coordinate care.
• Coordinate the Pediatric Nephrology team to ensure optimal patient care for inpatient and outpatient dialysis.
• Coordinate inpatient dialysis with dialysis unit nurses and related teams; assist with home dialysis training and equipment as needed.

Master’s degree in Nursing

Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant
