Job summary

Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando, FL is seeking a Paramedic to provide and document patient care in the ED, ICU or Respiratory settings. The role supports pediatric patients and their families with skilled assessments, airway management, IV access, and medication administration within education guidelines.

Qualifications

• Successfully completed a Paramedic program.
• Current certification as a Paramedic (PMD) in the State of Florida renewed every 2 years.
• Maintains current BLS/Healthcare provider certification.
• Maintains current ACLS certification.
• Must obtain and maintain PALS certification within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Delivers patient care requiring advanced skills in the Emergency Department, Critical Care or Respiratory Department as directed by the Medical Director, including protocol orders or guidelines.
• Communicates information about patient condition to RN, Respiratory Therapist and ED/CCP providers, and documents findings per guidelines.
• Provides for patient safety and comfort, infection control, and handling of hazardous materials.
• Prioritizes and sequences activities to ensure patient progress toward goals.
• Maintains attendance and compliance with Orlando Health policies.
