Job summary

Orlando Health seeks an Emergency Department Paramedic to provide and document individualized patient care, including airway management, IV access, ECG interpretation and trauma support, under physician supervision. The role supports pre-hospital to in-hospital care within Florida’s paramedic practice model and requires regular adherence to policies and procedures.

The candidate must have completed a Paramedic program with current Florida PMD, BLS, ACLS, and within one year of hire obtain PALS

Qualifications

• Successfully completed a Paramedic program.
• Current Florida Paramedic (PMD) certification renewed every 2 years; BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
• ACLS certification current; PALS certification within 1 year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Delivers patient care requiring advanced skills and judgment in the Emergency Department setting under supervision.
• Maintains airway patency, IV access, ECG interpretations and dysrhythmias recognition within the scope of Florida paramedic practice.
• Communicates patient condition and needs to the Nursing Operations manager or designee.
• Maintains attendance and compliance with Orlando Health policies and procedures.
