Job summary

Coastal Kids in Huntington Beach, CA seeks a Medical Receptionist to greet patients, handle check-in/out, verify insurance, and manage payments. The role supports clinicians by delivering patient-centric front-office service and coordinating follow-up appointments.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year in a medical office, strong communication, and proficient computer skills with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality. Some remote/telework may be considered. Local travel not required.

Qualifications

• 1 year minimum experience in a medical office setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Check-in patients upon arrival, updating demographics, insurance information, PCP, pharmacy, collect co-pays and balances, and obtain signatures and health questionnaires.
• Check out patients, collect additional balances, provide visit summaries, referral information, patient portal details, completed forms, and arrange follow-up appointments.
• Verify patient insurance through Batch Eligibility or on demand; contact patients if insurance is not active or PCP is not appropriate.
• Post-patient charges and payments; complete charge and payment reconciliation.
• Scan and upload documents through the Document Management system.
• Sort and deliver mail and PA documents; maintain a clean work area and waiting area.
• Participate in staff and educational meetings.
