Job summary

Coastal Kids in Huntington Beach, CA is seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant with front-office experience to support clinicians and provide back-office and administrative care for pediatric patients. The role emphasizes high-quality patient care, infection control, and teamwork in a fast-paced pediatric setting.

Responsibilities include taking vitals, documenting medical histories, vaccine administration support, phlebotomy, and coordinating patient referrals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor of Science degree in General Medicine for foreign doctors from a regionally accredited university or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and maintain a safe, clean patient environment in accordance with infection control policies.
• Document patient intake vitals and notify the clinician of any abnormal findings.
• Interview patients based on age and specialty needs with accurate documentation and update medical records.
• Prepare patients for examinations, assist with clinician orders, and perform age-appropriate screenings and procedures as supervised.
• Perform vaccine and medication reconciliation with patient education prior to administration.
• Ensure proper vaccine handling, storage, and reporting of any excursions.
• Record vaccines and medications with post-observation monitoring as required.
• Complete patient follow-up tasks including phone calls, referrals, and forms for DME, therapy, school clearance, etc.
• Perform phlebotomy and lab sample collection per policy.
