As the Front Desk Receptionist in our pediatric urgent care facility, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, families, and visitors. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure a smooth and efficient patient experience by providing exceptional customer service and administrative support. Key Responsibilities: Greeting patients and families warmly as they arrive at the urgent care facility, ensuring a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Registering patients by collecting and verifying demographic and insurance information accurately and efficiently. Answering phone calls and responding to inquiries from patients, families, and referring providers in a professional and courteous manner. Triaging patient inquiries and directing them to the appropriate healthcare provider or department as needed. Collecting payments, processing insurance claims, and explaining financial policies and procedures to patients and families. Maintaining patient records and ensuring confidentiality of all patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations. Coordinating with nursing and medical staff to facilitate patient flow and optimize clinic efficiency. Collaborating with other front desk staff and healthcare team members to ensure seamless coordination of patient care and administrative processes. Participating in training sessions and staying updated on clinic policies, procedures, and safety protocols. Contributing to a positive work environment by fostering teamwork, communication, and mutual respect among colleagues. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in healthcare administration is preferred. Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting, particularly in a front desk or customer service role, is advantageous. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. Proficiency in computer applications such as electronic medical records (EMR) systems, Microsoft Office suite, and scheduling software. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently. Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in fast-paced and stressful situations. Commitment to providing outstanding customer service and ensuring a positive experience for patients and families. Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance procedures is desirable but not required.
