Job summary

Summit Health Management in New Jersey is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians and advance patient care. You will assist with patient flow, scheduling, and procedures, and document in the PMS and EHR.

You will verify vitals, update medications and allergies, and help coordinate care transitions. Requirements include a High School Diploma, Medical Assistant Certification, Heart saver certification preferred, and 2–4 years of experience. English proficiency is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant Certification required; Heart saver certification preferred.
• 2–4 years experience preferred; ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician, PA or NP with clerical duties, patient flow, procedures and scheduling.
• Enter diagnostic tests and procedures into orders management system per workflow.
• Coordinate testing before admission and ensure consents are on site.
• Enter orders and schedule appointments in PMS and EHR.
• Provide referrals and/or consult orders in a timely manner.
• Document vitals (BP, temp, pulse, height, weight) accurately in EHR.
• Review and update medication lists and allergies in EHR; manage prescriptions.
