Job summary

Summit Health Management is seeking a Medical Assistant for Internal/Family Medicine in Westfield, NJ. The MA will support physicians, PAs and NPs with patient flow, rooming, and basic clinical duties, including vital signs and documentation in the EHR.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, completed a medical assistant or phlebotomy program, and 0–1 year of experience (2–4 years preferred). BLS certification or within 30 days of hire is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Graduated from an accredited medical assistant or phlebotomy program, required.
• 0-1 year related work experience, required; 2-4 years preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) or within 30 days of hire, required.
• Ability to communicate in English, both orally and in writing, required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the examination room and escorts patient into the room; cleans examination room when exam is complete.
• Maintains efficient patient flow.
• Obtains vital signs: BP, temperature, pulse, height and weight; documents in EHR.
• Schedules appointments according to department guidelines and enters orders in EHR/PMS.
• Provides referrals or consult orders in the PMS and EHR.
• Provides scribing services.
