Job summary

North Country Healthcare is seeking a Non-Certified Medical Assistant to provide basic clinical and administrative support under supervision. You will assist with patient care, manage daily tasks, and help maintain a welcoming clinic environment in the NH region.

The role includes phlebotomy, CLIA waived testing, chart preparation, and coordinating patient flow. Prior clinical experience is required, and a medical assistant program is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; medical assistant training preferred.
• Certification not required; BLS/CPR required/renewal guidance within first year.
• Experience in a clinical setting is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist healthcare providers with routine patient examinations and procedures.
• Prepare examination rooms by cleaning and restocking supplies.
• Record patient information such as vital signs and medical histories.
• Schedule patient appointments and manage patient flow.
• Assist in operations: phones, workload management, prescriptions, medication samples log, cross-cover with other departments.
• Provide patients with basic medication and follow-up care instructions.
• Perform phlebotomy and CLIA-waived testing; observe urine collection; prepare batches for lab.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy; ensure clinic safety protocols.
• Assist with inventory management by tracking and ordering supplies.
• Facilitate communication between patients and providers.
• Obtain prior authorizations.
• Participate in staff meetings to contribute to a positive clinic environment.
• Demonstrate willingness to learn and develop new clinical skills.
• Prepare charts including immunizations, discharge summaries, referrals, lab results, VA authorizations, and referral notes.
