Job summary

North Country Healthcare is seeking a Non-Certified Medical Assistant to provide basic clinical and administrative support under supervision. You will assist with patient care, manage office tasks, and help maintain a welcoming environment in a community healthcare setting.

The anticipated hourly range is $18.77 to $25.34 per hour, with final pay based on experience, skills, and qualifications. Prior clinical experience and familiarity with electronic health records are preferred to support

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Medical assistant training program preferred.
• Certification not required; CE and certification within first year encouraged.
• Basic CPR/BLS or Heart Saver CPR AED renewal required periodically.

Responsibilities

• Assist healthcare providers with routine patient examinations and procedures.
• Prepare examination rooms by cleaning and restocking supplies.
• Record patient information such as vital signs and medical histories.
• Schedule patient appointments and manage patient flow.
• Assist in operations: phones, workload management, prescriptions, med logs, cross-covering other departments.
• Provide patients with basic medication and follow-up care instructions.
• Perform phlebotomy and CLIA-waived tests as needed.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy per regulations.
• Ensure clinic safety protocols and patient safety measures.
• Assist with inventory management and supply ordering.
• Facilitate communication between patients and providers.
• Obtain prior authorizations when required.
• Participate in staff meetings and contribute to a positive clinic environment.
• Demonstrate willingness to learn and develop new clinical skills.
• Chart preparation including immunizations, discharge summaries, referrals, and lab results.
