North Country Healthcare (NCH) is seeking a Non-Certified Medical Assistant to support clinicians and ensure a welcoming patient experience across our NH clinics. The role involves basic clinical and administrative tasks under supervision.

The position includes assisting with examinations, room preparation, vitals recording, scheduling, phlebotomy, and records management within a busy outpatient setting. Hourly pay ranges from $18.77/hr to $25.34/hr, with final compensation based on experience,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required or equivalent.
• Completion of a medical assistant training program is preferred.
• Familiarity with electronic health records is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist with routine patient examinations and procedures.
• Prepare examination rooms by cleaning and restocking supplies.
• Record patient vital signs and medical histories.
• Schedule appointments and manage patient flow.
• Answer phones, manage workloads, refill prescriptions, and log samples.
• Provide patients with basic medication and follow-up care instructions.
• Perform phlebotomy and CLIA-waived testing; observe urine collection.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy regulations.
• Ensure clinic safety protocols and assist with mobility as needed.
• Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies.
• Facilitate communication between patients and providers.
• Obtain prior authorizations.
• Participate in staff meetings and contribute to a positive environment.
• Demonstrate willingness to learn and develop new skills.
• Prepare charts including immunizations, discharge summaries, referrals, lab results.
