Job summary

North Country Healthcare is seeking a Non-Certified Medical Assistant to provide clinical and administrative support in a busy healthcare setting. Under supervision of certified medical staff, you will assist with patient care, manage office tasks, and maintain a welcoming environment across multiple facilities in NH.

The role involves performing routine examinations, phlebotomy, and basic testing, with emphasis on patient flow and safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a medical assistant training program preferred.
• Certification not required; time to sit for certification within first year.
• BLS or Heart Saver CPR AED renewal with up to three-month grace period after expiration.

Responsibilities

• Assist healthcare providers with routine patient examinations and procedures.
• Prepare examination rooms by cleaning and restocking supplies.
• Record patient information such as vital signs and medical histories.
• Schedule patient appointments and manage patient flow.
• Assist in operations, including answering phones and managing workload buckets.
• Provide patients with basic instructions for medication and follow-up care.
• Perform phlebotomy and other CLIA Waived testing; observe urine collection and prepare batches for laboratory.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to privacy regulations.
• Assist with inventory management by tracking and ordering supplies.
• Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers.
• Obtain prior authorizations.
• Participate in staff meetings and contribute to a positive clinic environment.
