Job summary

Legacy Community Health in Beaumont, TX is seeking a Medical Assistant to support pediatric care. You will assist with exams, prepare treatment rooms, collect specimens, and help with diagnostics while maintaining a clean, well-stocked environment.

Role requires strong communication, ability to multitask in a team, and familiarity with electronic medical records. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; patient-centered care is core to our mission.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS/CPR certification required.
• Up to one year experience.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Basic front desk/clerical or healthcare support experience.
• Ability to work with clinical staff and multitask in a multidisciplinary team.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
• Phlebotomy skills preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients to collect medical information and measure vitals.
• Record medical history and test results in EMR.
• Collect and prepare specimens for lab testing.
• Assist physicians during examinations and maintain supplies.
• Prepare treatment rooms and ensure cleanliness.
• Sterilize instruments and manage waste per safety protocols.
• Conduct phone consultations regarding test results.
• Perform phlebotomy and other diagnostic tasks as ordered.
• Administer medications as ordered and document activities.
• Stock rooms, ensure expired items are removed, and maintain safety.
• Participate in OSHA programs and quality initiatives.
• Foster respectful environment and collaborate in primary care model.
