Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• Completion of an approved medical assistant training program as defined by state regulations.
• Active Medical Assistant Certification is required.
• BLS certification required.
• Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card may be required for certain Banner Health clinics.
• Requires strong computer skills, including the ability to work with medical software.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to manage multiple changing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Prepares patient for exam and treatment; records vital signs and chief complaint.
• Assists providers with exams and minor in-office procedures; takes blood pressure, temp, etc.
• Coordinates and manages patient care; referrals, authorizations, prescriptions, scheduling; reports test results.
• Provides clerical support and ensures accurate medical records and billing information.
• Maintains clean and safe environment; sterilizes equipment and follows OSHA guidelines.
• Orders supplies and stocks patient care areas; handles medication-related tasks.
