As a Medical Assistant, you will prepare patients, collect vital signs, assist with procedures, perform lab tests, administer routine medications, and support clinic flow under physician oversight.

Qualifications

• BLS for Healthcare Providers (AHA) certification required
• Current Medical Assistant certification from recognized bodies (AAMA/NHA/NCCT/AMT etc.)
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program required
• 1 year of experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare and room the patient for exam by obtaining vital signs and gathering health information
• Perform laboratory procedures using aseptic technique and infection control guidelines
• Assist Physician/APP with procedures (pelvic exams, allergy testing, EMG, etc.)
• Administer routine medications under orders or standing protocols
• Coordinate care with the team, referrals, and patient communication
• Support clinic flow and communicate accurately with patients and staff
• Perform additional clinical tasks such as phlebotomy, EKG, or suture removal as competency allows
• Ensure age-appropriate care and document needs as per department standards
