Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a Medical Assistant to support multiple clinics. You will room patients, collect vitals, review history, and perform screenings. You may assist with procedures and handle labs and POCT under supervision.

You will administer vaccines, manage refills, coordinate referrals, and maintain accurate records in the EMR. Strong communication and teamwork are essential in this role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; MA program preferred per division.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent training.
• BLS certification required; other credentials per division.
• Experience with patient rooming, vitals, history, and screenings is expected.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and maintains competency.
• Performs rooming tasks: vital signs, med reconciliation, history, health maintenance, allergies, and screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered.
• Performs lab duties: venipuncture, specimen labeling, packaging, and POCT as ordered.
• Administers medications and vaccines safely per rights of administration.
• Cross trained to perform duties relevant to clinic practice within MA scope.
• Communicates effectively and escalates when needed.
• Maintains clean work environment and ensures equipment is stocked.
