Job Description

We are seeking a Pediatric Medical Assistant to become a part of our team! You will perform routine administrative and clinical assignments to keep the medical facility running smoothly.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• MA Diploma OR 3+ years of MA experience.
• 1 year of Medical Assistant experience preferred, but not required.
• Bilingual (Spanish)

Responsibilities:

• Maintain a high-quality patient experience, welcome patients, ensure a safe environment, and keep office and exam rooms clean with appropriate supplies, adhering to infection control policies.
• Perform and document patient vitals, including height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration, notifying clinicians of any abnormalities.
• Interview patients appropriately, document accurately, and update medical records with chief complaints, medications, allergies, medical history, social history, barriers to care, and home status.
• Obtain and organize necessary medical records, lab results, and discharge summaries for clinician review and follow-up.
• Prepare patients for examinations, assist clinicians with procedures such as vision and hearing screenings, electrocardiograms, suturing, ear lavages, wound care, and emergency responses under supervision.
• Reconcile vaccines and medications, provide education, and ensure proper vaccine handling and storage, reporting excursions as needed.
• Perform patient identification, vaccine, and medication administration with proper documentation and post-administration observation.
• Follow up on patient needs, handle communication, refill requests, referrals, and assist with various documentation and scheduling tasks.
• Perform phlebotomy and lab sample processing with proper documentation.
• Contribute to the patient-centered medical home team, meeting quality standards and key performance indicators.
