Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, FL seeks an experienced Transplant Coordinator RN to lead transplant evals, manage waitlists, and liaise with patients and families. You will coordinate surgeries, provide education, and monitor post‑transplant care.

The role requires an RN with Florida licensure, BLS, and 1+ year leadership and transplant/critical care experience; English/Spanish bilingual skills are preferred. On-site position in Orlando offering comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Associates of Nursing is required.
  • Bachelors of Nursing is preferred.
  • 1+ year leadership experience is required.
  • 1+ year transplant, critical care experience is required.
  • Transplant care experience is preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred.
  • RN license (Florida) and BLS are required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate pre-transplant evaluations and assessments.
  • Manage the transplant waiting list and patient status updates.
  • Facilitate communication between patients, families, and the transplant team.
  • Organize and schedule transplant surgeries and related procedures.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families throughout the transplant process.
  • Monitor post-transplant recovery and follow-up care.
  • Manage donor organ procurement and transportation logistics.
  • Coordinate with dialysis and blood bank for donor and pheresis products.
  • Coordinate pre- and post-bone marrow transplant evaluations when applicable.
  • Develop and implement transplant policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Description:

  • Coordinates pre‑transplant evaluations and assessments.
  • Manages the transplant waiting list and patient status updates.
  • Facilitates communication between patients, families, and the transplant team.
  • Organizes and schedules transplant surgeries and related procedures.
  • Provides education and support to patients and families throughout the transplant process.

  • Communicates the schedule for stem cell collections/harvest with the dialysis department.
  • Coordinates with the blood bank to facilitate designated donor and pheresis blood products for the patient.
  • Coordinates pre‑and post‑bone marrow transplant evaluations for the patient and donor, when applicable.
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures related to transplant coordination.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Critical care experience or palliative care of patients with life‑limiting or life‑threatening illness [Preferred]
  • Teaching/preceptor experience [Preferred]
  • Transplant care experience [Preferred]
