Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, Florida is seeking a dedicated Transplant Coordinator (RN) to lead pre-transplant evaluations, manage the waiting list, and coordinate transplant surgeries and related procedures. The role requires strong communication with patients, families, and the transplant team, plus careful post-transplant follow-up.

Eligible candidates hold an RN license with 1+ year leadership and 1+ year transplant/critical care experience. Day shift, full-time position based in Orlando.

Qualifications

  • Associates of Nursing is required.
  • RN licensure (Registered Nurse) required.
  • 1+ year leadership experience required.
  • 1+ year transplant/critical care experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates pre-transplant evaluations and assessments.
  • Manages the transplant waiting list and patient status updates.
  • Facilitates communication between patients, families, and the transplant team.
  • Organizes and schedules transplant surgeries and related procedures.
  • Provides education and support to patients and families throughout the transplant process.
  • Monitors post-transplant recovery and follow-up care.
  • Manages donor organ procurement and transportation logistics.
  • Coordinates pre- and post-bone marrow transplant evaluations for the patient and donor, when applicable.

Job Description:
  • Coordinates pre-transplant evaluations and assessments.
  • Manages the transplant waiting list and patient status updates.
  • Facilitates communication between patients, families, and the transplant team.
  • Organizes and schedules transplant surgeries and related procedures.
  • Provides education and support to patients and families throughout the transplant process.
  • Monitors post-transplant recovery and follow-up care.
  • Manages donor organ procurement and transportation logistics.
  • Communicates the schedule for stem cell collections/harvest with the dialysis department.
  • Coordinates with the blood bank to facilitate designated donor and pheresis blood products for the patient.
  • Coordinates pre- and post-bone marrow transplant evaluations for the patient and donor, when applicable.
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures related to transplant coordination.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Teaching/preceptor experience [Preferred]
  • Transplant care experience [Preferred]
