Job summary

AdventHealth in Orlando, FL is seeking an experienced Transplant Coordinator RN to coordinate pre-transplant evaluations, manage waiting lists, and facilitate communication among patients, families, and the transplant team.

The role organizes transplant surgeries, monitors post-transplant care, and coordinates donor procurement, while ensuring education and support for patients and families throughout the process. Licensure and BLS are required, with leadership experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Associates of Nursing required; Bachelor’s preferred.
  • RN license and BLS certification required.
  • 1+ year leadership and 1+ year transplant/critical care experience required.
  • Teaching/preceptor experience and transplant care experience preferred.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate pre-transplant evaluations and assessments.
  • Manage transplant waiting list and patient status updates.
  • Facilitate communication between patients, families, and the transplant team.
  • Organize schedules for transplant surgeries and related procedures.
  • Monitor post-transplant recovery and follow-up care.

Job Description
  • Coordinates pre-transplant evaluations and assessments.
  • Manages the transplant waiting list and patient status updates.
  • Facilitates communication between patients, families, and the transplant team.
  • Organizes and schedules transplant surgeries and related procedures.
  • Provides education and support to patients and families throughout the transplant process.
  • Monitors post-transplant recovery and follow-up care.
  • Manages donor organ procurement and transportation logistics.
  • Communicates the schedule for stem cell collections/harvest with the dialysis department.
  • Coordinates with the blood bank to facilitate designated donor and pheresis blood products for the patient.
  • Coordinates pre- and post-bone marrow transplant evaluations for the patient and donor, when applicable.
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures related to transplant coordination.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Critical care experience or palliative care of patients with life-limiting or life-threatening illness [Preferred]
  • Teaching/preceptor experience [Preferred]
  • Transplant care experience [Preferred]
