Job summary

Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta is seeking a Director/Manager of Multicultural Translation to lead interpretation and translation services across the health system, ensuring quality care for non-English speaking patients and promoting a safe environment.

The role requires 2 years of management experience, a Bachelor’s degree in Translation and Interpreting or related field, and excellent Spanish/English communication; pediatrics and hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Translation and Interpreting or related field from an accredited institution
• 2 years of management experience
• 1 year of pediatrics (preferred)
• Certification Summary: No professional certifications required

Responsibilities

• Manages daily operations of interpretation and translation service delivery to patients and families.
• Ensures regulatory and accreditation compliance as relates to provision of services to limited English proficient and deaf or hard of hearing communities.
• Manages budget preparation and monthly analysis of budget performance for multiple cost centers and donor funds.
• Manages utilization of internal staff and external contracted staff to ensure resource optimization and quality services.
• Manages quality improvement and patient safety processes.
• Collaborates with medical staff and all levels of hospital personnel to ensure high quality of care.
• Manages the ongoing process of healthcare delivery to patients and parents incorporating age-related and developmental-specific requirements.
• Responds and addresses privacy breach concerns and policy development.
• Responsible for all aspects of managing and leading a team including interviewing, hiring, training, developing, directing work and processes, managing performance, recognizing, and rewarding employees.
• Mentor team members to encourage personal and professional growth.
• Encourage ongoing skill development by providing opportunities for continued education.
