Job summary

Children’s Cardiology, a subsidiary of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, is seeking a Patient Coordinator to deliver high-level patient service by coordinating all aspects of care, greeting patients, and handling insurance verifications. The role includes registering patients, managing referrals, and supporting staff across multiple clinic locations.

The position requires strong data entry skills, proficiency with EMR/EPIC, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or associate degree required.
• Minimum 3 years of healthcare front office experience.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Pediatric or family practice experience preferred.
• Medical Assistant experience preferred; certification a plus.
• EMR/EPIC experience preferred.
• Working experience with insurance processes required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with emphasis on data entry.
• Demonstrated excellent customer service skills.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks concurrently.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients/visitors and maintain a courteous, professional demeanor.
• Answer incoming calls and respond to requests and directions.
• Perform check-in/check-out duties including payments and ensuring correct patient information in the EMR.
• Register patient information and verify insurance eligibility and payors.
• Confirm insurance coverage and obtain authorizations as needed.
• Explain financial responsibilities and collect payments.
• Balance daily receipts and maintain correct records.
• Update department appointment reports and clinic boards with staff details.
• Schedule patient appointments when appropriate and assist colleagues as needed.
• Travel to other clinic locations for coverage when required.
