Children’s Mercy is seeking an Intermediate Care Registered Nurse to deliver advanced, high‑quality care for high‑acuity pediatric patients and families. You will use the nursing process to create age-appropriate care plans, educate families, and advocate for patient needs.

The role requires an ADN (BSN preferred for later hires) and current RN licensure in KS/MO multistate (or RN Compact). Lifesupport certifications are required, with specialty certifications preferred depending on unit needs.

Qualifications

• ADN is required; BSN preferred for hires after Sept 1, 2013.
• RN Licensure in KS/MO multistate or RN Compact; must obtain KS/MO multistate within 90 days of hire.
• Life support certifications required upon hire.
• Specialty certification relevant to unit’s patient population preferred upon hire.

• Utilizes the nursing process to develop and implement a safe, high quality, comprehensive plan of care for high acuity patients and families.
• Meets the educational needs of the patient and family and advocates for their needs.
• Maintains an environment that is safe, comfortable, efficient, and family-centered.
• Uses current research and evidence to improve nursing care quality.

Formation

Associate's Degree ADN

Bachelor's Degree BSN preferred

Licensed RN - KS/MO multistate license or RN Compact

Life Support Certifications required Upon Hire
