Job summary

Children's Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO is seeking an Intermediate Care Registered Nurse to provide advanced illness management and family-centered care for high-acuity patients.

You will use the nursing process, educate families, coordinate care with the healthcare team, and promote safety and quality in a fast-paced pediatric setting. This position is onsite, with competitive pay starting at $33.50 per hour and opportunities for specialty certification.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree ADN required.
• BSN preferred for hires after Sept 1, 2013; must complete within 5 years if not BSN.
• RN licensure KS or MO multistate; 90 days to obtain KS/MO multistate.
• Life Support Certifications required Upon Hire.
• Specialty Certification relevant to unit preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes nursing process to develop and implement a safe, high-quality plan of care for high acuity patient and family.
• Meets educational needs of the patient and family and advocates for their needs.
• Maintains an environment that is safe, comfortable, efficient, and family-centered.
• Utilizes current research and evidence for practice to expand knowledge and improve nursing care quality.
