Job summary

Compunnel Inc. is seeking an experienced Pharmacist Inpatient to ensure safe and effective dispensing of medications and to provide drug information services within a pediatric inpatient setting.

The role involves direct patient care, collaboration with healthcare professionals, and participation in medication use policy development and implementation, with a focus on pediatric outcomes at a Children's Hospital.

Qualifications

• Current Texas Pharmacist license.
• Hospital experience is required.
• At least some exposure to pediatrics.

Responsibilities

• Dispense medications accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with policies.
• Review and interpret physician orders for appropriateness of drug therapy, dosage, route, and duration.
• Provide drug information and education to physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
• Monitor patient medication therapy for adverse drug reactions and drug interactions.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and patient care conferences.
• Accurately document pharmaceutical interventions and patient care activities.
• Maintain professional competency through continuing education and participation in professional organizations.
• Contribute to medication safety initiatives and formulary management.
