Job summary

University of California, Irvine Health is seeking a Pediatric Staff Pharmacist II for the inpatient pharmacy to support pediatric and NICU patients with clinical pharmacotherapy, information, and IV order processing. This role emphasizes direct patient care in a dynamic hospital setting.

You will mentor technicians, oversee medication storage, and precept residents, students, and interns. A CA BoP license, pediatric/NICU experience or PGY1 pediatric residency, and BLS/PALS are required.

Qualifications

• Licensed pharmacist with CA Board of Pharmacy licensure.
• Experience in pediatric/NICU clinical pharmacy or completion of PGY1 Pediatric residency.
• Current BLS or PALS certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform drug distribution and computer drug and IV order processing for pediatric and NICU patients.
• Provide therapeutic drug information and consultations to staff and patients.
• Maintain patient profiles and participate in cardio-pulmonary emergencies.
• Direct technicians, oversee medication storage and inventory control.
• Actively precept pharmacy residents, students, technicians or interns.
