Job summary

University of California - Irvine Health is seeking a Staff Pharmacist to oversee drug distribution, IV order processing, and clinical consultation. The role includes maintaining patient profiles, participating in emergencies, and ensuring regulatory compliance in a busy hospital setting.

Ideal candidates hold a PharmD with California licensure and have strong English communication, customer service, and clinical acumen. BLS/ACLS on hire and the ability to precept residents are also expected.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist licensure in CA and graduation from an accredited School of Pharmacy with a PharmD.
• One year of clinical experience as a licensed pharmacist or completion of a PGY1 by hire.
• Knowledge of drug references, Joint Commission requirements and regulatory standards.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Current BLS or ACLS on hire.
• CA Board of Pharmacy licensure in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Distribute drugs and process computer orders for medications and IVs.
• Provide drug information and therapeutic consultation to staff and patients.
• Maintain patient profiles and participate in cardio-pulmonary emergencies.
• Monitor drug therapy and proactively adjust plans as needed.
• Direct pharmacy technicians, manage inventory, and precept residents/students.
