Stony Brook Medicine invites applications for a Registered Nurse 1 (T&RC) in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit / Pediatric Special Procedures. This full-time night-shift position supports critical care patients with direct and collaborative nursing care in a high-acuity environment.

The role requires NY RN licensure, preferred B.S. in Nursing and pediatric acute care experience; PALs, BLS, and TNCC are advantageous.

Qualifications

• Possession of or eligibility for a license to practice as a registered nurse in New York State.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.

Responsabilités

• Assess the patient’s condition and nursing needs; coordinate nursing care activities with other health disciplines.
• Develop a written individualized care plan including teaching needs and discharge planning.
• Administer direct care when nursing skills are required.
• Administer medications.
• Practice infection control and maintain a safe environment.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to the Charge RN/Clinician.
• Develop and maintain the written plan of care; set goals with patient/family.
• Document patient/family teaching and ensure understanding.
• Collaborate with staff and other departments.
• Participate in unit/hospital quality assurance activities.

Formation

New York State Registered Nurse license
