Job summary

Stony Brook Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse 1 (T&RC) for 16S Cardiac ICR, full-time night shift. You will assess patients, coordinate nursing care, and develop care plans while administering medications and maintaining infection control.

Preferred candidates hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing with at least one year of acute hospital experience and license eligibility in New York. The role offers comprehensive benefits and a supportive team environment on campus.

Qualifications

• Possession of or eligibility for a license to practice as a registered nurse in New York State.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred with at least one year of hospital acute care experience.
• Acute care experience will be counted toward RN1 experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition and nursing needs and coordinate care with other health disciplines.
• Develop a written care plan including discharge planning.
• Administer direct care and medications as needed.
• Maintain infection control and a safe environment.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to the charging clinician.
