Job summary

Stony Brook Medicine in Stony Brook, NY is seeking a Registered Nurse 1 (T&RC) for the Critical Care MICU on the Night shift. You will apply nursing methods to diagnose and treat health problems, coordinate care with other disciplines, and create individualized care plans.

Qualifications

• NY license required or eligible for RN licensure in NYS.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
• At least 1 year of hospital acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition and coordinate nursing care with the treatment team.
• Develop and implement an individualized care plan including discharge planning.
• Administer direct care and medications as needed.
• Practice infection control and maintain a safe environment.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to Charge RN/Clinician.
• Document patient education and ensure alignment with physician plan.
