Job summary

Stony Brook Medicine seeks a Registered Nurse 1 (T&RC) to assess patients, develop care plans, administer care and medications, and ensure infection control. Candidates must be licensed in New York state, with acute care experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must possess or be eligible for a NYS RN license.
• Prefers Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and 1+ year hospital acute care experience.
• Only licensed RN experience in an acute care facility counted towards RN1 experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition and nursing needs; coordinate care with other disciplines.
• Develop individualized written care plan including discharge planning.
• Administer direct care and medications as needed.
• Practice infection control and maintain a safe environment.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to Charge RN/Clinician.
• Maintain written plan of care and document patient education in records.
