Job summary

Advocate Children's Hospital in Oak Lawn, IL seeks a Registered Nurse for the Nursing Float Pool. The role features self-scheduling, day-to-day floating, and a 0.9 FTE schedule with three 12-hour night shifts (7p-7a).

The position includes every 3rd weekend with rotating holidays, and requires BLS, RN licensure, and a nursing education program; experience in clinical nursing is typically required.

Qualifications

• Requires RN license with privileges to practice in applicable states
• BLS required; additional certifications may be required based on specialty
• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program

Responsibilities

• Engage in unit councils, governance and quality initiatives to improve care processes.
• Apply nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement and evaluate care with patients and families.
• Monitor patient conditions and adjust care plans; collaborate with care team to improve outcomes.
• Uphold a culture of safety and ensure timely EHR documentation.
• May administer medications and therapies as per protocols and procedures.
• Communicate effectively, provide feedback, and delegate appropriately to team members.
• Pursue professional development and maintain required certifications.
