Job summary

Barrette Workforce Solutions, LLC is seeking a Pediatric Hospitalist in Mattoon, Illinois, to cover inpatient pediatric services. The role features a ~5-on/10-off block schedule with flexible inpatient and call rotation, supporting well newborns and Level II neonatology care in a hospital setting.

The ideal candidate will be board certified/eligible in General Pediatrics or Pediatric Hospital Medicine, hold an active Illinois license or be eligible for licensure, and start in January 2027.

Qualifications

• Requires MD/DO from US medical school or international equivalent, board-certified/board-eligible in General Pediatrics or Pediatric Hospital Medicine.
• Completed ACGME Pediatrics residency; active Illinois license or eligible for licensure.
• NRP and PALS certifications; DEA registration and CSR license as required by hospital policies.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct inpatient medical management for pediatric admissions, newborns, and Level II neonatology patients.
• Attend high-risk deliveries and perform neonatal resuscitations per protocols.
• Offer pediatric consultations for ED and surgical services and coordinate transfers when needed.
• Perform daily rounds, manage admissions/discharges, and ensure handoffs to outpatient pediatricians.
• Maintain EHR documentation and participate in quality and safety initiatives.
