Job summary

Hire Consulting Services in Mattoon, Illinois seeks a Pediatric Hospitalist to join its inpatient pediatric service. The role offers an exceptional lifestyle with a ~5-on / 10-off block schedule, inpatient coverage, neonatal support, and collaboration with neonatology services.

You will provide comprehensive care for pediatric inpatients, conduct newborn rounds, participate in high-risk deliveries, and support Emergency Department consultations, with a strong emphasis on quality and safety in a

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited US medical school or international equivalent.
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatrics residency; board certified or board eligible in General Pediatrics or Pediatric Hospital Medicine.
• Active Illinois medical license or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct inpatient medical management for pediatric admissions and nursery care.
• Attend high-risk deliveries and perform neonatal resuscitations as required.
• Provide pediatric consultations for ED and surgical service lines.
• Stabilize critically ill patients and coordinate transfers to tertiary centers.
• Daily rounds, admissions/discharges, and handoffs to outpatient pediatricians.
• Maintain EHR documentation and participate in quality and safety initiatives.
